I spent a glorious day at Crufts, filling an entire sketch book. At first, I couldn’t think how to combine them in a way that made sense as an engraving. However, I was concurrently organising the Society of Wood Engraver's 'Millennium Ark' and realised that a similar grid would work perfectly for this print. I enjoyed making it so much I went on to produce a range of other grids with various animals.
